PeopleLink Consultants Limited PeopleLink Consultants Limited, an employment agency with operations across Kenya, is faced with allegations of mistreating its labour force, specifically those consigned to Portland Cement in Mombasa.
The workers complain that they often go unpaid for months and suspect that a crooked accounting officer at the agency is deliberately withholding their dues in a bid to frustrate them.
Those that try to speak out against the injustices are arrested and locked up in a police department situated within the Portland Cement property.
Recently, Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Hon. Moses Kuria visited the company, but officials prevented him from speaking to the people in the production department over fears they would disclose details of their endless suffering. “Hi Cyprian Nyakundi, kindly hide my identity. I work at Portland Cement for an outsourcing company called PeopleLink. A company with no agreement whatsoever between them and their employees. They don't even have a secretary in their offices within the institution. They haven't paid us since October. We're equally aware that the money has been paid but there is an accounting officer called Wambua who is deliberately holding our money to frustrate us.
