Last week, a Safaricom employee was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers over fraud targetting saccos, DCI boss George Kinoti confirmed.
“Six other people were arrested in connection with the Electronic Fraud targeting Kenyan SACCOs among them are @SafaricomPLC staff, interns and Agents. They are: - Jason Amayo Arnold Orupia Okello Silas Shihundu, John Wangila Sylvanus Nyapera and Rodgers Wanyonyi,” read the tweet from the DCI official account.
Just like KCB, Safaricom doesn't conduct thorough due diligence before employee staffers to work for them leading to loss of billions through insider fraud.
