[ad_1] The long-awaited Building Bridges Initiative report will be released on Tuesday 26, taskforce chairman senator Yusuf Haji has said.
Addressing the media on Friday in Nairobi, Haji said the team has made an appointment with President Uhuru Kenyatta for the handover session.
Haji said the report will cover what the team collected across the country.
Haji added that the taskforce was able to collect views from more than 400 elected leaders and Kenyans in the 47 counties.
The team concluded compiling its report last month after countrywide tour collecting the views from Kenyans.
Haji also dismissed the report that had been circulating on the social media claiming to be from the taskforce.
“These misrepresentations are designed to sow confusion and division among Kenyans at a time when there is a strong national consensus on the need for cohesion, honesty and the ambition to change our country for the better,” Haji said.
The taskforce was formed on March 9 last year after Uhuru and Raila shook hands with a view of ending hostility among Kenyans.
The nine issues include ethnicism, lack of national ethos, inclusivity, devolution, divisive elections, security, corruption, shared prosperity and responsibilities and rights.
The team of 14 members comprises of Adams Oloo who is the chairperson, Agnes Kavindu, Senator Amos Wako, Florence Omose, Saeed Mwanguni, James Matundura.
Others are Major John Seii, Bishop Lawi Imathiu, Maison Leshomo, Senator Mohamed Yusuf Haji, Morompi ole Ronkai Prof., Bishop Peter Njenga, Rose Moseu and Archbishop Zecheus Okot. [ad_2] Source link
