For Kenyans working with Indians, it is 1619 every day. An employee of Britania has written to nyakundireport.com revealing how the deductions on their salaries have not been reaching Maisha Bora Sacco accounts
“Hello mr Nyakundi, I also work for Britania. In Britania, some employees sacrificed their small salary to join Maisha Bora Sacco but believe me for the last four months’, they deducted our money for Sacco payment but they have not paid the money to the Sacco for those four months”, he stated.
Another source narrated how a sister firm to Briitania has been treating staff.
“The situation Britania is the same for a sister company called Chai Bora Kenya Ltd. These companies are owned by private equity fund called Catalyst CPP and Chai Bora Holdings Mauritius”, the source hinted.
Last week, Britania MD Dipark called police on staff who were protesting delayed salaries.
The employees had staged a peaceful go slow by sitting in at the company premises saying they'll leave only after being paid their salaries.
Police came to the premises, listened to their predicament and didn't manhandled them as the MD had envisioned.

Later however, the staffers, most of whom had been locked from their houses due to non-payment of rent were thrown out of the company premises.
"The police put us in a lorry, came back and we were told to go home when outside the work place gate, we have gone home with dustcoat, we even don't know where we are going to sleep, houses are locked", one of Britania Staff members told nyakundireport.com
Mr Dipark has never been in his office for the better part of the year, he is said to have made a 10-minute technical appearance after the debacle, then unleashed the police on the helpless workers.
He is accused of never attending to his workers’ plight.
"Everytime he is called by financial and HR department he says he is having lunch for the whole day, and he sends text messages that he will call later, untill the day ends. An old man with white hair lying staff,
He doesn't understand things like renting because he resides in Muthaiga. He is so inhuman", said another staff member
