Neil Wigan, the British High Commissioner to Kenya, has announced his impending departure from Nairobi. Thus, bringing a close to his two-year tenure at the end of August 2025. In a heartfelt statement released, Wigan described his time in the country as a "whirlwind" and expressed his deep regret at having to leave. Mr. Wigan will be taking on a new, high-level role in London as the Director General Strategy and Delivery at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). His exit comes after a period of significantly strengthened diplomatic and economic ties between the United Kingdom and Kenya. A Tenure of Milestones and Partnership Neil Wigan, who arrived in Kenya in August 2023, has overseen a period of dynamic engagement between the two nations. In his farewell message, he reflected on a number of key milestones achieved during his watch. Also, highlighting the deepening "Kenya-UK Strategic Partnership. He noted his regret at not being able to visit all of Kenya's counties but expressed his unwavering belief that "Kenya's future is bright.
