On June 7th, 2019, David Mogikoyo, an architect working for the Turkana County Government (TCG) died in a road accident when his car rolled on the Kakuma - Lodwar Highway at a place called 'Gold'.
His death has raised more questions than answers following reports that a pathology report revealed that he had poison traces in his blood.
There are more curious things from the manner the accident happened, his body position in the car that rolled and the other issues in their marriage that we cannot reveal now.
First, let’s introduce the family.
David is married to one Jane Kendi, 26, whom they had two kids. The youngest is 3 months old.
David worked at the National Oil Corporation between 2012 and 2014.
In 2014, he founded his own company, Space Orderlity International, where he was the director.
As the wife and kids were mourning and waiting for the family to prepare his burial, David's family, led by the Matriarch of the family Celina Nyaboke Mogikoyo, rushed to court to stop his burial and also bar the wife from touching on any of his properties.
Back to the accident scene, David’s Pajero KBH 803M was written-off but not badly damaged in the driver’s compartment to warrant any deaths, to an innocent observer. Tough Questions Did David die a natural death or he was killed?
If he was killed? Who wanted him dead and why? Other issues are now emerging As with most deaths in the Western Kenya, David's family wants to know what killed their son.
David hailed from Kisii and the mother in a long affidavit (attached) expresses her displeasure with the ‘hurried’ burial of her son.
She moved to court to stop the burial so that police can conduct more investigations on what killed her son. The Affidavit The affidavit says that a post-mortem by the Government of Kenya Chief Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor found out that ‘there is no iota of evidence to confirm that the deceased died from the accident...’.
Some people feel that the mother and her family want to rip-off the young widow, while others feel that there is something quite off about the death; that there’s something sinister about the way David Mogikoyo died.
'As a mother she has a right to know who killed her son, pushed the vehicle to roll and put his son's dead body in the vehicle. In April, media reports indicated that Governor Josephat Nanok had instructed his goons to abduct a ‘source/witness’ to a journalist who was reporting on corruption in the county.
It is said that the source, a Mr. Benedictus Maraka was kidnapped in an attempt to make him recant his statement that the relief food had been stolen.
The journalist, working for a local media house fled and later stated that ‘he feared for his life’ and that, ‘This is not the first time journalists have been threatened here.’
In early June, a red Vest protester in Turkana, a Mr. Joseph Elegaan was abducted, taken to Nanok's home, beaten up and stripped off his Red vest.
They were protesting corruption at the TCG.
Governor Nanok is not all clean in these matters as he’s been shown to be ruthless.
The chief editor of this site urges the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to look at all angles i.e. did Mr. Mogikoyo complain of anything at work?, what was he working on before he died? above all, how comes there are no injuries consistent with someone who has been involved in a car accident on his body? Who poisoned Mr. Mogikoyo?
