I would like you to highlight some concerns about one media house that has a habit of using interns n dismissing their staff to avoid paying the salary.
Am a reporter with Mt. Kenya Tv a TV that has used all of our energy and left us to die in poverty.
Since the station started our NHIF, NSSF, PAYE, let me say every deduction that any employee is deducted has never been submitted to the relevant authority.
The TV now runs with only two employed reporters; no editor and all our positions have been filled by interns who after 3months they are released to pave way for new interns.
Since this started no one even the media council has ever come to our rescue, 8 months now without salary n when u ask for your money you only get Ksh5k and asked to leave if you are not comfortable! Is this fair?
Finally, 90 Per cent of producers, reporters program hosts, graphic designer etc have left. Senior reporters like Mwaura Wa Ndung'u, Wanjugu Wa Wachira, Ikuwa Wa Mbochi, Muthoni, Wakarura, Editors like Elijah, Munga etc have left n our money is nowhere to be mentioned.
The station owned by General Ngirichi n Kirinyaga Women Rep Wangui Ngirichi only cares about Kirinyaga campaigns. Who will help us to get our money?
