Mombasa - Nairobi Highway To Be Built Despite Questions About Its Bloated Costs - US Ambassador Says

Yesterday, the US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter was furious about a newspaper article, written by the Star , that 'confused' and mixed up issues about the Mombasa - Nairobi highways.

The article which was talking about the aforementioned highway used the JKIA - Westlands expressway pictures. It further stated that the US were no longer interested in the construction of the Nairobi - Mombasa highway following the bloating of the costs by 67 per cent and that China were knocking on the doors of Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to be given the project.

The US Ambassador was furious about the article,

'There is so much wrong with this article I don’t know where to start to respond. Total RUBBISH! Journalistic malpractice. Start w/ picture of the right highway! Actual FACTS to follow', the Ambassador tweeted.

Mr. Kyle later went on to stress that the highway is a good project for Kenya. He took a swipe at China funded projects, bribe-filled, without saying it, He stated, 'Here are facts about the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. 1/3 the price of competitors. 3x as thick 90cm vs 30 cm 70% Kenyan labor, no bribes, debt that can be paid back'.

However, the Ambassador did not get away with it, he was put on toes by some Kenyans.

A Twitter user clearly wrote, 'We no longer need that road since we have killed the economy of Mombasa', to which the Ambassador replied, 'Then you have quit. Build the road. Rejuvenate the economy'.

The slayqueen Ambassador who prefers taking pictures with Kenya's corrupt masters could not answer/reply to some of the most hard questions/statements.

Dr. Wandia Njoya stated, 'There are bribes. The bribe is called the USAID and US Army. The US government, acting NOT on behalf of the American people but on behalf of the rich corporations, are forcing this thing on us in exchange for supporting Muigai in rigging the 2017 elections'.

This US Ambassador is no stranger to supporting the corrupt of Kenya, he is not a stranger is supporting stupid projects. Sometimes this year's, he was lending his support to the dangerous and overly bloated, badly thoughout Lamu Coal project

Questions on the cost remain unanswered where according to insiders familiar with the project, the Kenyan authorities–Transport Ministry and the Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) had inflated the cost by 66.7 per cent, from an estimated cost of US$1.8billion(Ksh185.7billion) to US$3billion(Ksh309.5billion).

The project is to be implemented by American construction company - Bechtel International.

As it stands, the debate on Twitter shows that USA doesn't mind what Kenyans think and that the bloated project will go on as planned.

This, everyone should remember is a gift from Kenya to US for supporting the sham 2017 elections.
