Administration Police Leadership and Sports Centre Meru Residents of Tigania Central in Meru County, have raised concerns over the actions of the Administration Police Leadership and Sports Centre (APLSC) Meru camp commandant, Rem Mutabari Julius.
They claim that Mutabari is planning to sell off the land which is located on Kirimancuma Primary School land to the government under the guise of expanding the camp.
With the help of his cronies, Julius has been using ruthless tactics against those who oppose his evil plans, including arrests and persecution.
This week, the Deputy County Commissioner, Patrick Messo arrested 8 women, the majority of whom were 60 years or older.
These elderly women are now being held in the cold cells of Mikinduri police station.
According to the source who reached out to this blog, Mr Messo has been inciting people to burn the houses of those fighting against the plans to expand the camp within the school land.
This situation has led to community members asking why the camp cannot be relocated to a more deserving area, such as Kandebene in Tigania East, where people have faced violence from pastoralists from neighbouring counties.
They argue that the area, which is a tea catchment area, is being targeted by big businesses looking to grab the land.
In light of these developments, they are urging Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to intervene and ensure that the plan is stopped and justice served for the community which now risks losing the school to the greedy grabbers.
