A man was on Tuesday arrested after he reportedly blocked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade along State House road to beg for a job.

According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, the motorcade was headed towards State House from the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) where the Head of State had attended the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific Summit of Heads of State and Government.

The suspect, identified as Uvinalies Nyabuto, obstructed the convoy while displaying a placard bearing the words, “YOUR EXCELLENCY KINDLY OFFER A CHANCE TO JOIN THE DEFENCE FORCES AM SORRY FOR DISRESPECT YOUR SECURITY. PLEASE MR PRESIDENT. NYABUTO.” The man was immediately arrested by the Presidential Escort Unit who then confiscated the placard.

He was later transferred to Kilimani Police Station where he was detained.
