[ad_1] A court sitting in Nanyuki has detained two suspects linked to the murder of a woman and her two children for 21 days to allow the police to conclude investigations.

Chief Magistrate Lucy Mutai argued that police had not done enough investigations hence warranting their detainment. Major Peter Mugure, one of the suspects and a Kenya Defence Forces officer will be held at the Nanyuki Police station while the other suspect Collins, will be held at the Narumoru Police station. Reports reaching The Standard Digital desk say that the family of Joyce Syombua is yet to identify the bodies of their loved ones, after which a post-mortem will be conducted by government pathologist Johansen Odour, on Tuesday. SEE ALSO : Major Mugure to be arraigned over murder of wife, two children The bodies of 31-year-old Joyce Syombua and her two children Shanice Maua, 10, and Prince Michael, 5 were discovered on Saturday at Makaburini in Thingithu area, Nanyuki while buried. Mugure is said to have married Syombua and sired two children. Mr Mugure, who is the prime suspect in the killings, had planned to attend his daughter’s birthday. He had told Joyce Syombua to bring Shanice Maua, 10, and Prince Michael, 5, to Laikipia Air Base in Nanyuki so that they could catch up before Shanice’s birthday on November 1. Shanice was to celebrate her 11th birthday during the visit with her father, who trained as a civil engineer at the University of Nairobi. The case will be mentioned on December 9.
