The authority plans to sell the unclaimed goods on 4th February 2019.
A gazette notice dated 3rd January 2020 calls the public to view the goods at the customs warehouse on January 30 and 31. Pursuant to the provisions of section 42 of the East African Community Customs Management Act, 2004, notice is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed from the Customs Warehouse within thirty (30) days from the date of this notice, they will be sold by public auction on 4 February 2020.
Commissioner Jane Ombui Some companies which might lose their goods in the looming auction include Airbus Helicopters, Toyota East Africa, and Mitsubishi. Other firms like Airtel Limited, Radisson Blu, Microsoft EA, and Muthaiga Golf club also risk losing their uncollected items.
