Government Entrusts KDF With Mega Hospital Project

The Kenyan government has formally handed over the management of the KSh 50 billion Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) construction project to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). This landmark project is set to revolutionize healthcare in Kenya and the East African region. By delivering the largest health facility in the country, featuring a sprawling 4,000-bed multi-specialty hospital. The Kenyan government has entrusted the Kenya Defence Forces with the construction of the ultra-modern Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, a KSh 50 billion project that will be the largest referral hospital in the region with 4,000 beds Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Set to Become Kenya’s Largest Situated on a 200-acre site in Kiplombe, Eldoret, this ultra-modern hospital will significantly surpass the current Kenyatta National Hospital in capacity and scope. The first phase, targeting 2,000 beds, is expected to be completed by April 2027, with overall completion anticipated shortly thereafter.
