When we lost a young lady called Brenda who was forcefully transferred to Meru branch since she refused to sleep with some senior manager and died in a road accident travelling to Meru, the bank didn’t contribute even a shilling it’s her colleagues who decided to pool and contribute to give to her parents.
It was quite sad when at the funeral the parents were begging the bank to at least take one of their other children to work in DTB.

Walk into any branch and ask the manager if he understands the new IFRS accounting system they will answer on the negative. This will show you that promotion is not on merit but rather who you can lick their ass.
Most of the managers don’t even know the ownership composition of the bank. They always advertise GMT positions yet if you apply you can’t get since most of those positions are awarded to directors kids or the senior managers' children.
Sometimes we end up with GMTs that can’t do basic accounting or financial analysis but you have to train them.
The CEO ended up sacking the former head of branches like a dog.
