PHOTO CAPTION: Is there a fallout between President William Ruto and his long-time confidant, Kapeseret MP Oscar Sudi? In the past few weeks, wild rumours have been spreading that a certain vocal UDA politician from Rift Valley who was previously known to be a diehard supporter and trusted confidant of President William Ruto has fallen out with his boss over rampant extortion claims.
Reports suggest that the politician obtained millions of shillings from his colleagues, who were angling for key government appointments by taking full advantage of his proximity to the house on the hill.
He deceived his victims that he could influence their appointments to plum government positions.
Some of the poll losers were desperate for jobs which would enable them to recoup the money they had lost during the heated campaign period.
They were, however, left utterly shocked when they missed out on recent appointments, which prompted them to raise the matter to higher powers within the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
At first, it was hard to pin down these claims to a specific name, given the massive support that the president enjoys from a vast majority of legislators in his backyard.
However, a recent development in the story is now pointing towards one prominent man: Kapseret MP Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, who has been peculiarly missing in action as opposed to earlier days.
This follows a sudden wave of grumbles from some individuals within Mr. Sudi’s circle of close friends, complaining that their Kalenjin fixer is being sidelined from the high table in Karen.
In one Facebook post seen by nyakundireport.com, one of Sudi’s associates, Mr Stephen Kipkemboi Yego Arap Kewa, accused Dr. Ruto of looking down upon Oscar Sudi, despite “making him President”. “My MP Oscar Sudi made Ruto the President. Whether you like it or not, I will be detailing it soon,” he wrote.
Adding: “Sudi is a good guy, a hardworking Kenyan who executes commands to the letter. I vied against him not because we were enemies, but I had different ideas courtesy of my knowledge about Kapseret.” “Ruto wacha kutesa Sudi” he finished off. Mr Yego faced off against Sudi in the last general election but lost by a landslide.
This latest outburst begs the question: could there be trouble in paradise?
Is everything alright between Oscar Sudi and President Ruto?
Could he be using his networks to speak out?
