CAPTION: Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu A young graphic designer who was recently contracted for a digital gig by Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu is crying out for justice after the politician allegedly refused to pay for the project despite prompt completion.
Writing to this blog on Saturday, 4 June 2022, the victim gave an account of how a quick job to design a logo for a media outlet named "RECORD TV" turned out to be a total nightmare which has messed up his financial plans.
Ever since he submitted work on Wednesday, 5 May 2022, the artist claims that Ms Kananu has reportedly been taking him in circles regarding payment.
All she gives are endless stories and constantly refers him to her Personal Assistant (PA) whenever the issue is raised.
The last time the City Hall queen responded to messages, she asked him to wait for a call from someone in her office who would advise further on the matter.
The call obviously never came. "Hello, Cyprian. There is this issue concerning Anne Kananu the current Nairobi Governor. She gave me a graphic design job na ni kama amekataa kulipa. Every time ananiambia PA hadi sahii nimekua helpless. Sio pesa mob but it bothers me akikataa na iyo kidogo. I have receipts to confirm this. Here are the details regarding some of the graphic design work that is yet to be paid by one Governor Anne Kananu. We started having a conversation on Facebook through her page but she later started communicating through her mobile phone number and email. I have screenshots to verify this. She gave me a job to design a logo for a media outlet called RECORD TV. It took a while to finish because of the many modifications she wanted to be done on the logo. I had to take my time to meet my customer's needs. Long story short, I finished the work and submitted it through both the email and WhatsApp numbers. After kumaliza she has been telling me to wait for a call from her PA the next day, a call that I've never received since I submitted my work on 5th May. I send her a lot of messages most of which she doesn't reply or if she does ataniambia I wait for a call from her PA. Cyprian, I have a kid, bills I need to pay and survival to endure. Pia wewe you know how Nairobi is to many of us youths. Kindly share my plight," the source writes.
