The National Police Service (NPS) has set November 17, 2025, as the official date for recruiting new police constables. The announcement follows the lifting of court orders that had halted the previous exercise. Inspector General Douglas Kanja confirmed that the recruitment will occur simultaneously in all sub-counties across the country. NPS assured Kenyans that the process will be fair, transparent, and entirely free of charge, warning that anyone found engaging in bribery or corruption during the recruitment will face prosecution. How to Apply for New Recruitment The NPS has released detailed instructions to guide applicants on how to apply for the new recruitment of police constables. The process is designed to ensure equal opportunity for all qualified Kenyan citizens while maintaining integrity and professionalism in the police force. Eligibility and Minimum Requirements Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years, hold a valid national ID, and have at least a D+ in KCSE, with a minimum D+ in either English or Kiswahili.
Candidates should also be physically and medically fit. Male applicants must have a minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches, while females should be at least 5 feet 3 inches tall. Female candidates must not be pregnant during recruitment or training.
Those with criminal records or pending court cases will not qualify. The NPS also encourages National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the criteria to apply. They will receive special consideration if they possess a “GOOD” conduct rating on their NYS discharge certificates. Where and How to Apply To apply, candidates must download and complete the official application forms from the websites of the NPS, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), or the Administration Police Service (APS).
Alternatively, applicants can collect the forms from Huduma Centres nationwide. On the recruitment day, each candidate must report to their designated sub-county centre by 8 a.m. with the following original and photocopied documents: National ID card Academic certificates Birth certificate NYS discharge certificate (if applicable) All recruitment centres will open early to handle the large number of expected applicants. NPS reminded the public that the exercise is free, and no money should exchange hands. Any form of bribery or influence will result in immediate disqualification and legal action. Recruitment Centres Across the Country The recruitment will take place in every sub-county, including key venues in Nairobi, Mombasa, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, and Nakuru. Nairobi Centres Kasarani Moi Sports Centre, Kamukunji Sports Grounds, Embakasi Dandora Stadium, Makadara City Stadium, Lang’ata Nyayo Stadium, Kibra Nyayo Stadium, and Westlands KTTC Gigiri are among the main Nairobi venues. Mombasa Centres Kisauni Sub-County Police Headquarters, Nyali A.S.K Show Ground, Likoni Approved Grounds, Changamwe Oil Refineries, and Jomvu Amani Primary will host the recruitment. Uasin Gishu and Kisumu Centres Applicants in Eldoret and its surroundings will report to Turbo DCC’s Office, Kesses DCC’s Office, or Eldoret ASK Show Ground. In Kisumu, recruitment will take place at Kenyatta Grounds, Mamboleo Show Ground, and other DCC offices in Nyando, Seme, and Muhoroni. Nakuru Centres Major grounds include Afraha Stadium in Nakuru Town, Gilgil Stadium, Molo Municipal Stadium, and Naivasha Kihoto Grounds.
Each sub-county DCC’s office or stadium has been designated as a centre to ensure accessibility and fairness. Integrity and Accountability in the Exercise The NPS has emphasized that the recruitment will uphold the highest standards of transparency and fairness. Inspector General Kanja said the exercise aims to bring in disciplined, patriotic, and competent individuals who can serve and protect the nation.
He further assured Kenyans that NPS has enhanced oversight measures to prevent corruption, bribery, and favoritism. All candidates will undergo physical and medical examinations, and background checks will be done to confirm their eligibility.
