The suspect, Francis Mairura, was plucked out from his hideout in Nyamondo village, Gucha South in Kisii County, and is alleged to have executed a hi-tech swindle, which involved a breach of the Sacco's IT systems, resulting in the siphoning of the cash to six M-Pesa accounts under his control. According to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, the high-level fraud occurred on December 31st of last year, between 3:30 pm and 5 pm.
