I hope this finds all of you well. My name is Brian Munene, the director of Lolanes Kitchen, A food outlet at shop No.9 at Stramore University's student centre.
We have had no communication since our last meeting pertaining high bills of electricity which has become every tenant's headache. In the meeting, Mr. Kennedy Adiema carried with him a well-tabulated sheet of all tenant's electricity bills which was projected and I could not help but notice that one particular tenant has been paying less than kshs 100 and kshs 50 specifically for that month while I am slapped with bills of over Kshs 20,000.
The kshs 50 in our case, is charged every month constantly as meter service fee, which was initially not being charged. I suspect serious wiring alterations, case in point, some electric function do not work unless switched from shop No. 8,( note that mine is shop No. 9). I raised this in the meeting and since then no communication or follow up has ever been done.
Communication has been a very big barrier especially dealing with the representative from Regent management, resulting to personal attacks and misunderstanding which has made work ethics and business relationship so poor.
Last month I was brought a bill of Kshs 40,000 for electricity alone and upon realizing it was their mistake, they took it back and no other invoice has been brought to me, upon inquiry I was told by one Mr. Adiema to check my statement and I will find the bill there.
After my first complaint I was particularly asked to pay Kshs 5,000 till the matter is rectified, its been 3 months now and I would want to do what is right.
Pursuant to this and with the help of a technocrat in electricity I have found out that Electricity tariff structure can be found on the website https://stima.regulusweb.com/ Currently Strathmore is billed at 11kV which is tariff group C2 which implies they have peak tariff of Ksh16.26/kWh.
The solar system installed reduces the Levelized cost of electricity further during the day when it is generating to less than Ksh 10/kWh . An electricity cost of 22.x does not seem fair and the quantity consumed does not seem consistent.
We would like to have the meters audited for verification of the energy consumed and a discussion held to come up with a structure on how best to come up with a more cost efficient and transparent billing mechanism.
Attached is a scanned letter which was sent to me with a clause of me to sign that I am indebted with the said figures by the 31st of August 2018. If at all we are to have solutions, why are we given such ultimatums, why is the management from regent quick to invoice us but never ready to solve our problems?
I was informed KPLC also does their reading themselves, in this case, it is different.
My humble request is this issue be addressed permanently. We suggested that individual prepaid meters be installed and I believe this will be a massive solution. Your urgent reaction/response will be highly appreciated.

One tenant has been sent auctioneers twice in a space of four months despite paying rent to clear arrears.
This is instigated by Adiama from Regent, with blessings from Strathmore, efforts to reach adim from Strathmore were fruitless. Auctioneers fees are paid on demand without a receipt
