John Serut
John Serut, the cranky legislator from Mount Elgon has succumbed to multiple myeloma, a type of cancer.
"Rest in peace to the love of my life. I hate that you won't see my children. I hate that you won't get to see the woman I become but I'll make you proud. I love you dad ❤️", her daughter Michelle 'Chemoss' Serut wrote on Twitter
In October 2021, Chemoss went public asking for money to help cater for her dad's medical bill which had by then accumulated to over sh20 million.
Serut died at undisclosed Nairobi hospital while receiving treatment.

Serut represented Mt Elgon for two terms; from 2002 to 2007 before he lost to Fred Kapondi in the subsequent election.
In 2013, Serut was elected for another term as an independent candidate.
John Serut leaves behind a widow and kids.
