VODKA: Kibao and Blue Ice are counterfeited at Karen Shopping Centre
Cnyakundi.com has received information about a fake alcohol manufacturing plant at Karen Shopping Centre around Mabatini area.
“There is a guy who runs a bar at Karen Shopping centre. Just around the stage for Ngong Town matatus at Karen shopping centre. The guy has his own machine for making counterfeit alcohol,” the source said
The bar has specialized in making counterfeit Kibao and Blue Ice brands.
Being a dingy area, the bar does this and doesn't fear the police.
The 3 wines and spirits that the guy runs doesn’t have names, but the bar that he runs is the biggest in the area.
Lovers of cheap liquor are warned against imbibing alcohol in Mabatini, just after where the Ngong road matatus pick passengers heading to Town in Karen Shopping Centre; 500 metres from Karen Police station.
The bar owner argues that he makes counterfeit alcohol in order to survive since cops have taken bribes from him and that affects his profits.
The counterfeit alcohol is also supplied to areas within Ngong town.
The bar owner goes around Wines and Spirits within Ngong and Rongai towns collecting empty bottles of Kibao and Blue Ice brands.
“They Just clean and refill,” the source says.
Karen is officially a slum. Anti-Counterfeit Authority - KENYA should move with speed today and arrest the culprit.
