Reporting from Hagardera Police Station 2 Hours ago The Fafi MP, Hon Abdikarim Osman today stormed the Hagardera police station, slapped a police officer manning the cell, snatched the keys to the cells, opened the doors wide and released all the prisoners. The OCS pleaded with the MP to stop doing the act but Hon. Osman instead threatened to discipline the said officer.
Hagardera police station is the only police post in Hagardera refugee camp in Fafi constituency.
It is believed that most of the prisoners released scotfree by the mp were undocumented refugees, security risk individuals, illegal importers of goods and firearms from Somalia.
The residents of Hagardera are worried about the security risks involved in this act.in addition to losing confidence in the police force whom they termed as powerless security officers.
Its also reported that a number of unregistered motor vehicles held in the station were among properties released by the MP.
The Kenya police are now facing mistreatment, lack of respect, threats and lack protection from politicians and high ranking civil servants.
