Kenya’s Facebook group Buyer Beware has been deleted from the social media platform under unclear circumstances.
The group, had more than 300,000 members from across the country by the time it was deleted by the social media giant.
Cnyakundi.com is yet to know the reason for the suspension though Facebook claims that they suspend groups that don't adhere to their community standards
Before being deleted, Buyer Beware was a platform for vibrant debate on topics ranging from politics, governance and social issues and more importantly shedding a light on those that don't pay their debt.
Facebook has been suspending big groups exposing their censorship that seems not to come to an end.
Group Kenya, one of the most popular Facebook pages in the country was permanently suspended in June 2020, throwing more than at least 2.1 million followers in darkness and confirming that censorship not only targets the group owners but the general masses that depend on the community for updates.
Other groups like Kilimani Mums were also suspended by the Mark Zuckerberg led Facebook.
Many countries have started developing alternatives as censorship on Twitter, Facebook and other big tech platforms spin out of control.
