Even with Billions in financing, Poa! Internet struggles to make a mark in Kenya

Andy Halsall - founder Poa! Internet Low-cost internet service provider (ISP) Poa! Internet is struggling to penetrate the Kenyan market. The company which received over Sh3.4 billion shillings from The African Development Bank (AfDB) is struggling to impress clients. Complaints of data throttling can be deduced from the ones shared online. Kenya's internet is at 34 per cent worse than the global average despite most undersea cables landing at the coasts of this country. ISP engage in massive data throttling yet the Communications Authority of Kenya is silent as top managers receive bribes. A recent report by the World Digital Quality of life index 2022 ranked Kenya number 106 out of 117 countries when it comes to internet speed, quality and growth. When it comes to speed, stability and growth Kenya's internet is at 34 per cent worse. READ: Poa! Safaricom has good coverage of masts and as such engages in monopolistic behaviours. Poa! Internet It seems the new kid on the block, Poa! Internet has learnt from the worst in terms of customer oppression.
