Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commision ( EACC ) have for the second time raided Malava Constituency CDF offices as part of an in depth investigations into looting of millions from the public coffers.
Malava National Government/Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) Manager Collins Obuya admitted that EACC sleuths raided their offices for the second time this year after the first raid was conducted in September.
The anti-graft officers were responding to concerns raised over the manner in which tenders were being dished to briefcase companies and contractors associated with the constituencies top leadership.
Some contractors are being forced to give kickbacks even after qualifying for tenders which are mostly awarded to associates and family members of Malava MP Malulu Injendi .
School heads and principals in Malava are also being forced to append their signatures to approve shoddy deals with threats of being starved of cash or being transferred to remote and hardship areas.
The project in the spotlight is in Muting’ong’o Primary School where contractors are officers from the NG-CDF office.
Obuya took over from one Mary Gorrete Wanjala in 2018 he managed to kick out the then acting treasurer Felistus Mukonyi who had worked in the office for close to eight years.
The corrupt Obuya managed to kick out any stumbling block before rolling out his looting schemes where he hand-picks contractors from his village or he uses proxies.
In Tumbeni Secondary School the man who is now on the radar of anti-graft authorities used his sycophants from the office to supervise the project and harass the head teacher over kickbacks and bribes.
