After our expose on one Suraj Shah , the Chief Financial Officer at SimbaCorp, a driver has come up with more revelations of bad working condtions at the firm.
“Ile mambo you exposed about our company is true”, the driver said.
He continued, “ huyo mhindi anaitwa Suraj utumia watu vibaya na hawapei heshima hata kidogo. People suffer a lot in this company because of him and no one can question him because he thinks he is above the law”.
This site has exposed many slave-driving firms in Kenya , but the sad thing is that no one, not even the government has ever commented even assured Kenyans of any improvements.
The Trade Unions are silent. The ministry of foreign affairs is also silent on the atrocities of foreigners taking jobs that can be done by Kenyans while also metting out untold suffering on the Kenyan populace.
The workers too, have been reduced to Stockholm syndrome, because, where are the riots for better working conditions?
The driver at SimbaCorp says that the human resources department is useless in tackling employee complaints.
“Even department ya HR which is supposed to fight for employees hawaezi mwambia kitu. there's in no way we can air our issues for fear of intimidation and your current hr team ni waoga sana hawaezi tetea mtu,” he reveals. He however says that the Chairman of the company is a good man who needs to be told the truth about his wayward staff.
“Chairman wetu ni mtu mzuri sana na sijui kama anajua mambo kwa ground ni different. Hii wakubwa ameajiri kazi wanamdanganya mambo inaenda mzuri na ni uwongo kazi yao ni kizungu mingi na kunywa coffee na Biscuits na kusema, 'we have a meeting in 30 mins'. Mr Chairman those managers have the education but they don't have the skills to run your company,” he says
He claims that his bosses steal from the clueless chairman.
“Ata wengine labda hawajui mission statement ya kampuni,fungua macho hawa watu wanakuibia na wanafrustrate wafanyi kazi wengine. Drivers are given a perdiem of Sh2400 to travel to Mombasa and bring back vehicles. That money is little compared to how expensive life has become. Please give more to drivers,” he concludes.
He specifically singled an employee that came from Tata, now working at the SimbaCorp finance department. Sad incident There’s also a lady driver that was run over on the leg by a car. She was sacked without any help to manage her hospital bills or a new life as an amputee.
