I live at the staff quarters of Kamiti Prison complex with my parents. I know you might be wondering how come a big prison like kamiti have electricity problems.
Well, apparently all junior staff members at Kamiti have had their electricity cut-off after a directive from the officer in charge till token meters are installed. However, ever since that happened two months, nothing has been done to correct the situation.
Only senior staff members have electricity connection while junior staff members with no ranks have been left to live like poor villagers with no access to electricity.
When you enter the main gate you might be fooled that the entire prison has electric connection but upon going deeper you will find junior poor officers houses using candles and smoke infested lamps such as koroboi; only because the officer in charge cut-off the electricity.
The only places with electricity connection at Kamiti prison are senior staff quarters the main, medium and juvenile prisons because of the prisoners.
