Economist David Ndii has always been criticizing DP Ruto for a long time but his tweet during his graduation has been trending on social media.
The deputy president graduated with a PhD in plant ecology. Ruto was the only one who graduated with the degree in plant ecology, so was the situation with other graduands in the other doctoral disciplines. Ruto joined UoN in August 2012 and was supposed to graduate in 2016, but then he did not meet the required threshold.

In October, Ruto defended his PhD thesis on the 'Influence of Anthropogenic Activities on Land Use/Cover Changes and Environmental Quality of Saiwa Wetland Watershed, Western Kenya'.
He defended his thesis at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Nairobi. Ruto failed to graduate last year with a doctorate in Philosophy in Plant Ecology after missing out on what he said was set requirements.
Ndii further noted that a PhD is not an achievement adding that he got his own 20 years ago.
"...I earned my PhD 20+ years ago, why would I envy an academic fraud? It's not an achievement. Amin, Bokassa made it to the Presidency. Corruption, murder and megalomania will get you there. William Ruto is eminently qualified— I’m not," he said.
But it is David Ndii's comments that have lit the microblogging platforming Twitter. "Congratulations conman. When you sleep at night, you will know you have not earned a PhD, just like the rest of your loot.
