Dandora waste processing plant soon operational – Nairobi Governor Kidero

Plans to convert the Dandora dumpsite into a fully-fledged processing area with final disposal at Ruai are at an advanced stage, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has said. Speaking from Fukuoka, Japan where he is on a weeklong working tour of various facilities as well as sign MoU agreements with the Japanese government, Kidero explained that the technology to be used will not create danger to aeroplanes and bird strikes will be completely minimized. “This technology will also put in place measures to curb toxic gas emission,” he said, adding that the Sh13 billion plant will create massive employment for youth in Dandora and Ruai areas.
