Corruption in Kenya universities sports Association. Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) officials in Nairobi region are on the spot following alleged corruption on matters player eligibility.
This is after several volleyball teams raised an alarm concerning other teams fielding ineligible players. It is believed that high ranking officials in the association are colluding with some volleyball team officials to allow for the fielding of ineligible non student players at the expense of other teams.
Some slight investigation carried out shows that fake documents including fake student IDs as well as national identity cards are used to 'legalise' and field this ineligible players. But how does this come by? Before a tournament or a set of games begin, Officials from the organization are tasked with a responsibility of doing a scrunity on documents as well as team lists while counter checking with the players at place.
The foul play now comes in when players with fake documents are approved for the tournament or league by the same team that is supposed to disqualify and take action on the malpractice.
Teams pointed out for fielding ineligible players just recently include the ST. Paul's Volleyball team who allegedly fielded one Calistus Kasili whom according to close scrunity has no proper documentation.
Other teams on the rampage include the likes of KCA University volleyball team.
According to the supreme law of the land, cap 63, any person who forges official or Judicial documents is liable to imprisonment for seven years.
Teams affected have threatened to seek a court injunction if no action is taken against the wrongdoings.
They have given the organization a 24 hour ultimatum on the same.
