I am writing this as a concerned Kenyan.
Recently there has been an upsurge of betting firms and herbs clinics and other service providers who use the USSD messages to advertise on mobile platforms. These people will send you a million messages and later ask you to STOP seeing the messages you are supposed to unsubscribe where you are charged 10 bob.
Now my question is, where do they get our numbers coz some of us have never subscribed to that bullshit? If at all you as Telcos allow them to send messages to customers, who provide numbers for bulk SMS?, Who benefits from the monies collected when unsuspecting customers are forced to unsubscribe the service which was forced on them?
Does the Communication Authority know about this Violation of rights and privacy? What danger does you as a company pose us into if the said people collect numbers and use them wrongfully?
I need those answers I have raised issues here and you ignore don't do this one coz it will trend till you answer.
