In all the videos we've seen, the patients at KNH don't want victimisation ad have hidden their faces.
These people cannot afford the treatment, most Kenyans can't.
We've been having depressed living standards since 2013, many people have lost incomes during the few months that the country has been on lockdown.
The govt recently terminated the testing of Covid-19 at public facilities, leaving only the work to private entities. However, it is so confusing that numbers announced keep rising every day. One wonders who would take themselves for testing to be charged Sh10,000 then if found COVID-19 positive to pay over Sh100k for treatment.
Where does the Ministry of Health get all the numbers it announces every day. Or are they as it is alleged, over a week old? So, are they announcing figures from June?
It is painful. Covid-19 management has been bangled and there's nothing great in its announcement anymore.
If you can't for test free, treat for free, then it is better the discourse on media be changed to highlight other issues and COVID-19 be pushed to the back banner and be managed just like TB, Malaria, road accident etc. for there's no need to scare people out of their lives and end up not doing the right thing.
