Two senior customs officers joseph Kaguru and Nicholas Kinoti pocketed Ksh. 15 Million by illegally selling off 8 ethanol containers valued at 100M tax liability each.
The two helped Mr Thuo Kibathi( Cousin to Uhuru) to buy the containers. The containers were condemned for destruction but the two plotted to syphon them out. Thuo kibathi used his company shore to shore logistics to buy the containers. over Ksh 80 Million would have been lost in taxes.
The containers were sold for only kshs. 600,000. The containers are located at MCD container freight station. The ethanol is to be used for making illicit liquor in Kiambu. Kaguru is the kra boss for Mombasa port and kinoti is Kenya Revenue Authority boss for the Coast.
The two are untouchable as they boast of close connection with the Commissioner-General KRA Mr Njiraini & Githii Mburu, head of Investigation kra.
The matter was reported to EACC but they have bribed EACC to go easy on the case.
