Bogonko Bosire's Father Loses Battle With Depression

Confirming his demise on Monday, February 21st, 2022, Nation Media Group (NMG) journalist James Smart revealed that Mr David Bosire breathed his last at his home located in Molo town, Nakuru County after a long illness said to have afflicted the old man as a result of his son's disappearance.

Prior to meeting his maker, Bosire's illness had become so bad to the extent he developed severe memory loss.

Although he felt deep despair for losing his son, he could barely grasp any memory of him.

The passing on of Mr Bosire sadly comes barely a month after his other son, Joshua Mang'wari took his own life away after unsuccessfully battling depression linked to the mysterious disappearance of his brother who was the family's breadwinner.

Mang'wari's lifeless body was found lying in his room on January 14th 2022 by his sister Winnie.

Bosire who now has now been left the heavy burden of looking after their surviving mother.

Ever since Bogonko Bosire was reported missing in September 2013, his family has been earnestly looking for answers without any tangible success. Following the 2013 Westgate attack, his fans waited with bated breath for his regular daily dose of banter that never came.

Media reports later indicated that the blogger had mysteriously disappeared without a trace.

Among his final posts on the site, Bogonko had dug deep into the private lives of powerful people within the country.

A few days leading to his disappearance, he had expressed fears for his life. At the time, police noted that investigations were in top gear to track him down.

Throughout his life, Bogonko was a close friend of former PSCU Director Dennis Itumbi as well as several other figures in media, politics and business.

His disappearance has been the subject of numerous articles and investigative reports including an eight-episode podcast by James Smart.
