Customers at the Equity Bank Nairobi West Branch witnessed dramatic scenes on Tuesday after an armed man with unclear intentions attempted to force his way into the banking hall.
Information suggests that the lone thug showed up at around mid-morning and ambushed the building's guards.
Police, however, quickly arrived at the scene and neutralized the situation.
The suspect was arrested and taken out of the building some moments before noon.
Reporting from the scene, sources have established that the suspect was shot down in the process.
The attack also reportedly left one person nursing stab injuries.
The injured man who is yet to be identified was rushed to Nairobi West Hospital.
The bank was cordoned off and the road leading to the building temporarily closed.
It remains unclear whether there are more suspects within the hall.
