Archbishop Philip Anyolo receiving a Mitsubishi Pajero from Deputy President William Ruto Kisumu Diocese Archbishop Phillip Anyolo has been transferred to Nairobi.
In January 2019, Archbishop Anyolo made news after he was gifted a vehicle by Deputy President William Ruto.
DP Ruto has gifted him a Pajero during his inauguration as the head of the Kisumu Diocese.
After weeks of bad press, the man of clothe gave away the car stating that he already had a good car, a Toyota V8 and did not need the Pajero.
“The institution where I donated the Pajero is free to sell the vehicle and use proceeds from the sale to embetter the society,” he stated in March 2019.
As he takes his leadership to the Nairobi diocese, Kenyans are wondering what gift the politicians who are looking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta will entice Archbishop Anyolo with.

“Recently, during the installation of Archbishop of Catholic Diocese of Kisumu, someone took a vehicle to the bishop as a gift. When the Pope was informed that the Archbishop had received a car gift, he [Pope Francis] ordered that the vehicle be returned. And, true to his instruction, the car was returned because it was acquired from proceeds of corruption”, Raila said in March 2019.
However, the Archbishop refuted those claims.
Archbishop Anyolo has been appointed by Pope Francis of Asisi, the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
