Investigators say police officers were deployed to Dr Mutiso's property on February 12 to enforce a court-issued demolition order affecting an estimated 20-acre parcel of land.
During the operation, structures were demolished and several vehicles were reportedly stolen, including the Toyota Prado that has now resurfaced in the murder investigation.
Detectives have also established that one of the murder suspects allegedly presented the same demolition notice at Mlolongo Police Station for enforcement before the operation proceeded.
Following the demolition, Dr Mutiso lodged a formal complaint at the police station challenging the legality of the exercise and seeking investigations into the incident.
That complaint remains active, with detectives now exploring whether the land dispute triggered a chain of events that ultimately culminated in her killing.
According to investigators, the latest evidence has elevated the property dispute from a background issue to one of the principal lines of inquiry.
Investigators have also established that Dr Mutiso reported receiving death threats weeks before the fatal attack.
According to the investigation, she reported to Kilimani Police Station on July 7 after three men riding on a motorcycle allegedly accosted and threatened her life.
Detectives are now examining whether the individuals involved in that incident are connected to the motorcycle gunmen who carried out the attack three weeks later.
The similarities between the earlier threats and the fatal shooting have strengthened suspicions that Dr Mutiso may have been under surveillance before she was killed.
The latest developments come after Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor confirmed that Dr Mutiso died from severe bleeding after sustaining three gunshot wounds.
The postmortem established that two bullets struck her head while another entered through her upper back, causing fatal head and chest injuries.
Meanwhile, investigators continue pursuing multiple leads after two suspects, a mother and her son, were arraigned in court as detectives sought more time to complete investigations.
Police maintain that the murder investigation remains active as forensic experts, homicide detectives and prosecutors work to establish who planned, financed and executed the killing.
