"The Law must be followed"
A man has sent nyakundireport.com disturbing information pertaining to a little known law firm Odero Odoyo and company advocates.
He says that in 2016, he got involved in an accident along Ahero-Katito road.
He moved to court and the court awarded them compensation from the car firm. His lawyer was Odero Odoyo and company advocates.
"After judgement was done, I was compensated. But I have never been given that cash to date and the advocate who had my case was Odero Okoyo and Company I followed up but all in vain," he said.
He added that the compensation was to the tune of Sh103,105.
Cnyakundi.com has learnt that the firm might've swindled other people to and it is being exposed so as to end this conmanship.
Odero Odoyo had lied about the compensation money.
" He said that the Insurance company Invesco didn't pay but I went to the company (Insurance)and was told it had been paid after the Judgement in 2017," the man added.
The judgement to compensate was issued by the Nyabdo Magistrate Court according to documents seen by nyakundireport.com. Law firm wound up over fraud. On 10th July 2021, Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate David Ndungi directed that the law firm of Mike Oyoo Wagunda be shut down to prevent loss of money by the public.
"Many unsuspecting clients will continue to give instructions to the accused then end up losing their litigations and cash," the magistrate noted
The lawyer, a Mr. Wagunda had been removed from the LSK list of practising advocates in 2017.
He was charged with defrauding Mr Benson Maingi Mutahi and Ms Hellen Wanjiku Maingi of Sh17,400,000 alleging he would sell them a parcel of land in Thome Estate, Nairobi County.
He allegedly received the money between May 19 and November 29 2017.
This seems like the same case.
Law Society of Kenya should look into this matter.
