ON the 10th of March this year, the Judicial Service Commission published a list of 500 court assistant II shortlisted candidates on its website. However, concerned Kenyans have accused the Judiciary Service Commission of publishing and shortlisting allegedly iligl candidates on their website. According to sources speaking to this site, JSC cut out all aged applicants from the shortlisted candidates even though the age limit clause was not included nor specified in the application forms.
" The just-published shortlisted Kenyans for interviews for the position of Court Assistant II is illegal. During the advert, there was no age limit but what has now come out shows the ages between 22-27 years old as only shortlisted. Where do other jobless Kenyans go to? How come they never told us during applications of the age limit?" a concerned source informed this site. According to the application advert shared by JSC on their website, the applicants were only required to meet these qualifications. Academic and Professional Qualifications This is an entry point to the Court Assistant cadre. For appointment to the grade, the applicant must have: Minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- or its recognized equivalent; Knowledge in Computer. Good command in English and Kiswahili Meets the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution. Note: Applicants with additional certificates or qualifications will have an added advantage. Job Core Competencies: Knowledge in maintenance of files and smooth flow of files and documents through the court system Good Interpersonal relations; Good Communication skills; Problem-solving skills Confidentiality and High Integrity Ability to work under pressure; and Merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results. Just moments ago, JSC shared this on their Social Media handles. "To guarantee that all shortlisted candidates for the Court assistant II positions were notified of their selection, each candidate received an interview invitation by SMS. If you received the SMS after attending the interview, please disregard it as a miscommunication and do not attend the interview again."
