Story · Rip-Off: Jambojet, KQ and KLM Exposed

Dear Mr. Nyakundi,

I’m writing to request you to help me expose Jambojet airline, so as to frustrate impunity.  Below is my story:

On date 10/05/2019, I booked a Jambojet flight from Nairobi to Entebbe. I chose to book it at their office because there was a problem with their online terms and conditions link.

This was my first time to book a Jambojet flight and therefore, I requested to know from the staff who was serving me whether I can get a refund after buying a ticket and I was told YES. Few days later, circumstances that were beyond my control made me request for a ticket refund, but I was told that I cannot be given a refund and that the only thing they can do for me is to postpone my departure date by a maximum of six months.

That means I have to use the ticket within 6 months otherwise I will lose my money. The reason why I demanded a refund is because KQ which has a business partnership with Jambojet, forced me to do that by telling me that I must travel with KQ to Entebbe otherwise my KLM flight from Entebbe to Amsterdam will be cancelled. KQ has a business partnership with KLM.

Ticket postponement is not the same as a refund. This means they lied to me that I can get a refund after booking. There is no way I can use my ticket within six months because I live abroad.

They cannot blame me for not reading their terms and conditions before the booking because the link to the terms and conditions was broken and they went ahead to lie to me when I asked them about the possibility of getting a refund.

I complained to Jambojet about this issue, but they insisted that they will not give me a refund.
