😂😂 😂St Paul’s University says Nick Odhiambo needs a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies before he even thinks about marriage again!

Nick Odhiambo might have thought he was done with marriage conversations, but St Paul’s University has found a way to bring the topic back to his timeline. Atleast when things were cooling off- or maybe he thought.

Do not read this with an already judgy mindset. Tulia, this is a playful swipe at the veteran radio presenter following his latest declaration that he will never marry again, jokingly inviting him to enrol for a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies.

Ulimanage?? Kuja ufanye Bachelor's of Arts in peace and Conflict studies akiz,” the university posted, using the kind of humour that quickly gets Kenyans talking online

And the timing could not have been better. Nick, who married his longtime partner Annie Sumbeiywo in a traditional wedding ceremony on April 13, 2024, is back in the headlines after publicly declaring that he is happier staying unmarried.

The joke has also reopened memories of the drama that followed Nick's wedding in April 2024. Barely days after the ceremony, an old, well quick recent, WhatsApp conversation containing an explicit photograph resurfaced online.

In the whatsapp chat, Nick was asking a man named Byron where he got a very recent image of his wife.

Byron replied to Nick saying "Makosa imefanyika".

What problem did the then 44-year old Nick Odhiambo have that he was trying to solve by marrying a menopausal woman?- An Influential Kenyan on X shared.

But some Kenyans also did not find it funny.

It's all fun and games with the corporate banter until you misstep and everything goes downhill real quick. If you've been following Nick Odhiambo's situation, then you know how terrible this tweet is.- She shared on X.

Now, with Nick saying he has no plans to walk down the aisle again, the conversation has shifted from wedding celebrations to the question of whether marriage is worth it at all.

During his recent sit down with fellow Presenter Mwakideu's podcast appearance, he spoke about enjoying his peace and questioned the expectations people bring into modern relationships.

If you are bold enough to marry a 30+ year old woman, there is no doubt you have saved a retired field marshall, wounded and with a good number of badges from the battlefield. That's a woman who has been run through for 12 good years (legally).

Marry her in secrecy, take her home, procreate, and raise your family in secrecy. Parading a retired bed-to-bed midfielder on social media for validation and applause from stranger, knowing very well a good number of men have checked her viscous insides will bring nothing less than shame and disrepute to you and your family. Such unions should be treated as relief food - no flagging off; just taking in quickly, quietly and shamefully.- Another Kenyan shared on X

But, Nicks position echoes a wider conversation among Kenyan entertainers about marriage, commitment and personal freedom, although every person's circumstances are different.

Bien of Sauti Sol has also been part of public conversations about his 'uncommon marriage' and relationships.

For Nick, this is another reminder that when you make a statement about marriage, Kenyans online rarely let the conversation end there.
