EACC has arrested Busia Law Courts clerk Wesley Kipkoech Langat for allegedly demanding and receiving KSh 180,000 to influence the outcome of a criminal case.

The clerk is accused of acting on behalf of a magistrate by demanding the money in exchange for a lenient penalty for a complainant and six co accused persons in a case involving a commercial vehicle impounded over alleged traffic offences.

He was arrested after receiving the money and is being held as investigations continue.
