The National Cohesion and Integration Commission is facing fresh questions over its ability to enforce its mandate after several senior politicians failed to honour summons over alleged inflammatory or discriminatory remarks.

Among those cited are former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma.

The commission has warned that failure to appear could lead to arrest warrants, contempt proceedings or other legal action.
