Schools are entrusted with one of society's most important responsibilities: providing a safe, transparent, and accountable learning environment for children. Because parents, teachers, and school administrators all play a role in shaping the educational experience, disputes involving school management often attract significant public interest, particularly when they touch on finances, governance, and the welfare of learners.
When concerns raised by parents and teachers escalate to the courts, it usually signals a breakdown in confidence between stakeholders and the institution's leadership. In such situations, the legal process becomes an important avenue through which grievances can be examined, evidence can be presented, and all parties can be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations raised against them.
It is important that matters before the courts be handled fairly and transparently. Allegations remain allegations until they are tested through the legal process, and all parties involved are entitled to be heard. However, where concerns persist within a school community, parents often feel compelled to seek answers through formal channels.
Hello Nyakundi,
Kindly hide my identity.
I am a parent of a learner at Bidii Primary School in Buruburu, Makadara Sub-County, Nairobi, and I would like to bring to public attention a matter that is causing concern among some parents and teachers within the school community.
It is my understanding that the Headteacher and the Board of Management of Bidii Primary School have reportedly been served with court summons requiring them to appear before the Milimani High Court on 14 July 2026.
From what parents have been discussing, the case is said to arise from complaints that have been raised by several teachers and parents regarding the management of the school.
Among the issues reportedly at the centre of the dispute are allegations concerning the collection of unauthorized levies and other administrative matters that some stakeholders believe require closer scrutiny.
As parents, many of us have heard concerns being raised for quite some time, and there has been growing interest in understanding whether the issues will now be addressed through the court process.
It is further understood that the court has directed the respondents to file their responses within the timelines provided and that the matter is scheduled to proceed for hearing on the stated date.
I believe it is important for parents and other stakeholders who may be affected to be aware of the proceedings and to follow the matter through the proper legal channels.
Where individuals have relevant information or evidence relating to the concerns raised, they should present it through the appropriate legal process so that the court can make an informed determination based on the facts.
As a parent, my interest is simply to see transparency, accountability, and a learning environment that serves the best interests of the children.
I hope the legal process will provide clarity on the issues that have been raised and help restore confidence among parents, teachers, and the broader school community.
