The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its online portal for the 2026/2027 placement cycle.
Inviting KCSE 2025 candidates to apply for degree, diploma, and certificate courses in universities, TVET institutions, and teacher training colleges.
Portal now open and key dates
Education ministry officials confirmed that the 2026 placement cycle has officially kicked off, with the KUCCPS student portal going live this week.
The application window will remain open for four weeks and is scheduled to close on May 6, 2026.

Also, giving candidates a limited period to choose and submit their preferred programs and institutions.
KUCCPS has urged students and parents not to wait until the last days, warning that late rushes often cause errors and system congestion.
Who can apply and what’s on offer
The portal is open to all 2025 KCSE candidates and Form Four leavers from previous years who meet the minimum entry requirements for university and college programs.
Applicants can select from:
Government-sponsored degree courses in public universities
Degree programmes in approved private universities (HELB-supported, but without government scholarships)
Diploma, certificate, and artisan courses in TVET institutions and KMTC for those not pursuing degrees.
Courses are grouped into clusters, with competitiveness determined by demand, institutional capacity, and previous cut-off points.
How to apply
Students access the system through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal at students.kuccps.net via the main website.
Once logged in, applicants can:
Enter the KCSE index number, year of exam, and password.
Update personal details and confirm grades.
Browse available programs by cluster, institution, or level (degree, diploma, certificate).
Select and rank choices in order of preference.
Pay the application fee through the provided payment options and submit.
KUCCPS has deployed officers to selected universities, colleges, and Huduma Centres countrywide to offer one-on-one guidance.
Support and advice for candidates
KUCCPS says it will publish guidance materials, including program lists, cluster point explanations, and videos, to help students make realistic, career-aligned choices.
Candidates are encouraged to:
Check individual university and TVET requirements carefully.
Balance ambitious choices with safe options where their cluster points clearly exceed past cut‑offs.
Involve parents, teachers or career counsellors before locking in final selections.
