A Promising Journalism Career Cut Short
Former NTV reporter Silas began his career at the Nation Media Group as an intern in 2012. He worked in the print department during his university break.
After returning to Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), he sharpened his skills at MMUST FM, serving as a news editor.
He later rejoined Nation Media Group, this time as a correspondent. In 2017, Silas earned a promotion to full-time reporter. He served the media house for five years before leaving in December 2022.
At the time of his death, Silas had transitioned to Nairobi Law Monthly, where he continued his passion for storytelling and current affairs.

Another tribute read, “The most shocking news ever. Rest in peace, Champ.” Apollo’s passing comes shortly after the media fraternity mourned another loss.
Former KTN journalist Nick Mudimba died on March 24 after a short illness. He had reportedly struggled with high uric acid levels and died at his Syokimau home in Machakos County.
