CUEA Says Victim Captured In Assault Incident “Presented Falsified M-Pesa Statements At School Cafeteria”

PHOTO CAPTION: A snippet from a circulating video clip that shows two CUEA staff members assaulting a helpless student The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) has defended itself over an assault incident recorded within their main campus, claiming that the victim was an unknown outsider who presented falsified M-Pesa statements at the school cafeteria.
The Christian institution has, however, condemned the manner in which the rogue handlers addressed the situation. “It has come to the attention of the University management that there is a video circulating on social media of an incident and altercation between a staff member and an individual at our students' cafeteria on Bogani Road, Langata Campus. Notwithstanding that this incident was precipitated by Non-CUEA students attempting to obtain food from the cafeteria with falsified M-Pesa receipts messages, the reaction depicted in the video of the incident was unfortunate and completely uncalled for,” reads part of the letter signed by Human Resources Manager Erick Njiri, and Dean of Students Samuel Wakanyua. For the better part of Monday 17 October, a disturbing video clip went viral showing an administrative staff member at the university unleashing violence upon a helpless student.

Sources privy to the matter later unmasked the identities of the aggressors as Marcellus Otieno and his accomplice Festus Musau, who works in the security department.
The duo is suspected to be running an extortion ring that targets both university staff and students, offering plum positions and entry slots to the highest bidder.
They reportedly enjoy the blessings and protection of the clergymen in charge of governing the institution.
