June 8, 2020 - The Kamariny Stadium, a crucial training facility for athletes from Elgeyo Marakwet County, is set to resume operations after the national government pledged to complete the stalled project within four months.

During an inspection tour of the facility, Sports Chief Administrative Secretary Hassan Noor assured the contractor that sufficient funds had been allocated through the National Sports Fund, ensuring timely payment and completion of the works.

Noor emphasized the importance of supporting athletes from humble backgrounds, who have brought great honor to the country despite facing numerous challenges, including a lack of training facilities and coaches.

The stadium not only provides a platform for established athletes to train and enhance their performance but also offers opportunities for upcoming athletes to nurture their skills.

Works on the stadium have been stalled since 2017 due to budgetary constraints, forcing athletes to train on the roadside, which has negatively impacted their performance.

With the national government's commitment, athletes from Elgeyo Marakwet County can now look forward to a conducive training environment, enabling them to focus on their craft and achieve greater success.
