On June 8, 2020, a video surfaced on social media showing police officers storming Buffet Park in Hurlingham, Nairobi, before 7pm and harassing customers.

According to the video, the officers attempted to arrest three individuals who were part of the revellers at the joint.

One of the men questioned the officers, saying, "You should be serious, what is the time?" Another individual told the officers that they did not have the right to arrest them at all costs.

The situation escalated when one of the officers raised a stick, but the man warned him not to try anything.

The incident occurred despite the government's restrictions, which allowed restaurants to open with strict conditions, including a curfew from 9pm to 4am for the next one month.

Nairobi County police boss Philip Ndolo defended the officers' actions, stating that anyone found inside a club past 5pm would be arrested and the management would face action.
