On June 7, 2020, the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) arrested 11 individuals, including a Nairobi Member of County Assembly (MCA), for violating the curfew order in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The arrests were made despite the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country, which has not seemed to deter a significant number of Kenyans from breaking the rules meant to keep the virus at bay.
The individuals were arrested in various parts of the city, with the NMS enforcing the curfew order to prevent the spread of the virus.
The arrests come as the government continues to implement measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
